Privacy policy

This is a convenience translation. The German version (Datenschutzerklärung) is legally binding.

2. In brief

• This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising services.
• Fonts, graphics, the film and scripts are served from our own web space; no third-party content (such as Google Fonts) is loaded.
• The contact form sends nothing to a server. It only opens your own e-mail program with a prepared message.
• Your language choice is remembered in your browser's local storage (entry “hln-sprache”) so that it is preselected on your next visit. It never leaves your device; you can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

3. Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (San Francisco, California, USA). When a page is requested, Netlify processes technically necessary data in server logs: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type and operating system. This serves the secure and stable operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA; this is based on Netlify's data processing agreement and the EU standard contractual clauses it contains.

4. Contacting us

If you contact us by e-mail, phone or WhatsApp, we process your details in order to deal with your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries relating to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete the data once the enquiry has been dealt with and no statutory retention duties apply.

WhatsApp: the WhatsApp button is a plain link. Only when you click it do you move to WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland). Their privacy terms then apply; a transfer to the USA is possible. If you do not want this, please use phone or e-mail.

5. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object (Art. 21). You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. A message to the address above is sufficient.

6. Right to complain

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is: Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Ludwig-Erhard-Straße 22, 20459 Hamburg, Germany.
